PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE
The public art committee will be comprised of volunteers that have a passion for art. This committee will help promote and create connections to make public art a priority in Sparks. The committee will have monthly meetings to discuss and create a plan of action. This committee will be under the direction of Kim Ciesynski and Angela Handler.
The goal of this committee is to:
- Create an awareness that public art can create a connection to the community, business and the city while increasing real property values and stimulating economic development.
- Help create an extraordinary city that helps define the entire community’s identity and reveal the unique character of specific neighborhoods.
- Help pair artists with business owners to create murals in downtown Sparks.
- Work with the city to create funding for public art. The growth of a city is a standard that has been set for many cities, state and federal projects throughout the US. Sparks will be growing and we wish to reach out and work with the city, new businesses and developers to make this happen.
